Last Thursday, playgroup was at Elio's friend Andrew's house. There is a swing in Andrew's backyard, and so Elio had his first ride on a swing! He seemed to enjoy it.
Here you can see his teeth a little!
Here 's Elio with Theron, Charlie, and Emma.
Elio's teeth are really neat. They make him look like such a little kid. I've been trying hard to get a picture of them, but it's been hard...
After all that, here is the very first picture I could take of his top teeth -- and it's got a big hand in the way!
The most beautiful movie of him yet. That's Andrew's big sister, Olivia, singing in the background. I'm getting the sense that Elio has a crush on Olivia!

Breaking news!
Guess what? We're moving to New Orleans! Very exciting. Start planning to visit us now. We'll be there by July.
And now for another bunch of Elio pictures...
My mom gave me this awesome outfit that my brother wore in the 70s... Elio's a little long for it now, but it's so AWESOME.
Elio and I went to a garden in CW last week. He played in the grass and I took some self-portraits.
On Saturday, we drove to Richmond to introduce Elio to the beauty that is the Apple Store.

This week in Elio...
Elio's been teething like crazy -- he's got two top and two bottom teeth coming in, and there seems to be a lot of discomfort. But he's hanging in there, and finding time to be photogenic. Here he is at playgroup two weeks ago ... he was mighty interested in Charlie's whirligig toy thing:
My mom came to visit for a few days and she and Elio got along smashingly.
Elio's big eyes. Do you think he has a future in cell phone advertisements?
Our recently installed baby gates have been a challenge to Elio. But he's been problem-solving ways to get over them...
Last Friday Elio and I met up with some other moms and babies for a little picnic in CW. Elio rocked his sun hat for the first time.
When Elio started pulling himself up to standing, I immediately bought him this walker wagon thing that I'd been coveting because it's so cute. Of course, he wasn't really ready to use it then, but now he is! He LOVES walking across the room with it!

Surprise Grandparent Visit!
Dan went out of town last week for a job interview and conference, and I was lucky enough to have his parents come visit and help with Elio.
After Dan got back into town on Sunday, the whole family crowded into the bathroom to give Elio a bath, an activity he really loves (note that he now has enough hair for a shampoo mohawk!).
Grandpa Sam made sure to capture the fun on video...
Elio figured out how to climb over our container barrier, and seemed awfully proud to do it! So Sam and Jan helped me totally rearrange the living room and set up baby gates to make everything more Elio-proof. I think Elio misses the climbing, though, so I might bring some of the containers back out just for fun.
Here's a video of Grandpa Sam giving Elio a little cart ride:
