New Orleans goodness

I've been discovering and enjoying New Orleans lately. There's some good stuff going on here. Here's a picture Justin took of Elio and Mose sliding together.

And here's a picture Justin took of Elio in the swing.

Prospect.1 New Orleans is going on right now, and it's amazing. It's the largest biennial of international art ever organized in the U.S., and there are exhibits all over the city. We've only just begun to explore all the stuff there is to see, but so far, it's been really neat. We went with Justin and Edie and Mose and Mose's grandpa to see a bunch of stuff in the Lower Ninth Ward, which was pretty much decimated by Katrina. It was really amazing to see the way the art pieces were integrated into the landscape. And Elio and Mose had a grand old time running around. Here they are, in a picture Justin took. That fabulous house you can see in the background? One of the Brad Pitt/Make It Right foundation homes that are being built.

We went back this weekend with Dan's sister, Kris, to look again.

Check out the groovy outfit!

Elio's been spoiled with ice cream. Here he is with his game face on and two spoons.

Enjoying a totally yummy po-boy at the Po-boy festival.
